Grants of over €208k approved by the Minister of State for the Gaeltacht, Thomas Byrne TD, for GAA Clubs in Gaeltacht areas of Meath and Galway
• €208,523 for Wolfe Tones GAA Club/Baile Ghib Hall Committee
• €29,520 for Mícheál Breathnach’s GAA Club in the Galway Gaeltacht
Thomas Byrne TD, Minister of State for the Gaeltacht has announced his approval of a grant of €179,273 to Wolfe Tone’s GAA Club/Baile Ghib Hall Committee in the Meath Gaeltacht to carry out renovation work on the car park beside Baile Ghib playing field and naíonra. This grant has been approved to carry out drainage and other necessary works on the car park at the field and around Halla Bhaile Ghib and to resurface same.
In addition to this, Minister of State Byrne has approved a grant of €29,520 for Cumann CLG Mícheál Breathnach in Indreabhán, Co. Galway to hire a consultant in order to draft a plan for the proposed development of the car park at the pitch at An Cnoc in Indreabhán.
Speaking about the grant today, Minister of State Byrne said:
"These clubs are active within their local communities in promoting sport for under age, men’s and women’s teams. The members of these two clubs take great enjoyment in the Gaelic games they take part in and as such I am delighted to approve these grants for them. The support I have approved for Baile Ghib is also in line with my Department's goal of supporting the development of early years services in Gaeltacht areas."
