The Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport Shane Ross, T.D. and the Minister of State with special responsibility for Tourism and Sport Brendan Griffin, T.D. today (11/08/19) congratulated Natalya Coyle on her success at the European Modern Pentathlon Championships in Bath and on qualifying for Tokyo 2020.
Minister Ross said: “I am delighted to congratulate Natalya Coyle on her wonderful success at the European Modern Pentathlon Championships in Bath and on qualifying for Tokyo 2020. To get to this stage is no mean feat considering the preparation involved and level of training in five different disciplines. This is a fantastic achievement by Natalya and I would like to wish her well in her preparations for the 2020 Olympic Games.”
Minister Griffin said: “Congratulations to Natalya Coyle in securing qualification for next year’s Olympic Games by finishing in the top 8 in the European Championships today. Great credit is due to her to reach this level of success in such a high quality field of elite athletes. It is great for Natalya to have now secured her pace for Tokyo 2020 and she can now focus her energies on preparing for next year’s Games. I have no doubt that Natalya will do Ireland proud again in Tokyo.”
