• Royal Irish Academy Bursary

The Royal Irish Academy(RIA) developed and delivers this Bursary scheme to encourage new local research and local history studies (local, national and regional) relating to the struggle for independence and the civil war periods at community level.

The Commemorations Bursary scheme is now open for applications and will close on Friday, 9 August 2024.

• 2024 Markievicz Award

The Markievicz Award supports artists to develop their craft and ultimately produce great art that recognises and commemorates the role of women in the historical period 1912-1923 and beyond. The award is administered by the Arts Council on behalf of the Minister for Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media.
