Irish-Language Networks are areas which have achieved a basic critical mass of community and State support for the Irish language. Foras na Gaeilge is responsible under the Act for supporting organisations with regard to the preparation and implementation of language plans in the Irish-Language Networks.
Having examined expressions of interest from organisations operating in areas which could be identified as Irish-Language Networks, Foras na Gaeilge selected Loughrea, Co. Galway, Ennis, Co. Clare, and Clondalkin, Dublin to prepare language plans in respect of these networks. The language plans of the three Irish Language Networks were approved in January 2020 and a notice has been published regarding each of them.
