The Review Group draws attention to a number of important facts about the tourism industry in Ireland. Employment in tourism over the past 10 years, has increased at a faster pace than even the unprecedented high rates of employment increase in the economy generally over that
same period. Today the sector employs more people than the totals employed in either Irish-owned or foreign-owned manufacturing industry.
