The public consultation period on the draft placenames orders for counties Sligo, Laois, Galway, Leitrim, Longford, Mayo, Carlow and Wexford is now over. All recommendations received from the public have been examined by the Placenames Committee and the Placenames Orders for these counties will be signed by the Minister of State with responsibility for Gaeilge, Gaeltacht and the Islands in due course.
