Ireland’s Well-being Framework is a cross-Government initiative to help improve our understanding of people’s quality of life, which can help to make policy decisions more relevant to an individual’s experiences.
The overarching vision for the Well-being Framework is "enabling all our people to live fulfilled lives now and into the future", which recognises the need to look beyond narrow macroeconomic measures, such as GDP, and that both equality and sustainability should be key considerations when developing and implementing policies.
This Department’s Pilot Well-being Dashboard seeks to capture how the mission laid out in our Statement of Strategy 2023-2025 interacts with the 11 dimensions of Well-being defined in the National Framework. The Dashboard can help to monitor progress in the aspects of the well-being dimensions most relevant to each sector. It is a work-in-progress and is expected to change over the next two years as new data sources become available.
In line with the Department’s Language Scheme, as a document of a technical, scientific or specialist nature, Irish translations of the Dashboard and background paper are currently unavailable.
