It is the policy of the Department of Transport that photography costs are kept to a minimum and services are provided in-house by staff. Where services are contracted, best value is sought and a number of quotes are obtained. Services are contracted out on an exceptional basis only.
Photography costs for the department from 2008-2018 are set out below. The costs are broken down by date, purpose of event, photographer, and whether a press conference or photocall was involved.

The Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport only organises photography for Departmental announcements by Ministers, events and launches. Photographs are provided to the media to promote the work of the Department and the Ministers. Photos are provided to the media for publication at their discretion.
