Purpose of Group |
The IRCG took over responsibility for the NCCMCR in mid-2002, for co-ordinating mountain and remote area rescue. |
The NCCMCR introduces measures to increase the effectiveness of the voluntary rescue service, and provide an operational and administrative quality improvement. |
Meetings are attended by the Air Corps, Irish Mountain Rescue Association (IMRA), Department of Justice & Equality, Department of Defence, An Garda Siochana, and Irish Cave Rescue Organisation (ICRO). |
Funding is provided through the IRCG to the voluntary rescue services. |

Funding for the Mountain and Cave Rescue Grant Scheme is administered by the IRCG, to 8 Mountain Rescue Teams (MRT) around the country, IMRA, ICRO, Search & Rescue Dog Association (SARDA), and Tramore Cliff Rescue. |
