Based in Brussels, the Permanent Representation of Ireland to the European Union brings together civil servants from nearly every Irish government department, making it the State's largest diplomatic mission abroad.
The main function is to promote, and represent Ireland's interests in the EU. The Permanent Representation also plays a frontline role in representing Ireland's unique position, interests and priorities in matters concerning the negotiations on the withdrawal of the UK from the EU.
