The role of the Unit includes:
- to represent the department in Emergency Planning groups and ensuring preparedness for major emergencies
- to co-ordinate the policy of the department in respect of cross-sectoral issues concerning transport matters in response to queries from other departments, external organisations or members of the public
- Quality Customer Service (QCS)
