Active Travel in Ireland

There are two principal sources of data on active travel in Ireland – the Census and the National Travel Survey.

Census 2016 showed 12% of Irish people used an active mode on their commute to work.

The National Travel Survey looks at all journeys made by adults (e.g. not just commuters to work) and the last Survey in 2016 showed 17% of Irish adults used an active mode for their journeys.
