Summary

Dublin City Council wish to renovate and redevelop the former Rutland Street School, Summerhill, Dublin 1 for use as a Community Hub.

The proposal will locate a range of uses within the building and site. These uses include Dublin City Councils Central Area Office, community groups, a crèche, community gardens, a local radio station, enterprise incubator units and a cafe and community hall.

The original building is to be restored, renovated and extended. The School on Stilts to the rear is to be demolished, allowing the external space to the rear to be landscaped. Public Realm works are also proposed to Rutland Street Lower, at the front of the building, including widening the public footpath.
