Planning Applications

In general, you need to apply for planning permission for any development of land or property. This includes building, demolition, or alterations to land or buildings and the making of a material (i.e. significant) change of use of land or buildings.

Some works, however, do not need planning permission. These are called exempted development. To learn more, visit the Exempted Developments Section 5 page.

Before you lodge a planning application please download, complete and submit the Planning & Property Development Department 'Guide to Lodging Planning Applications Applicant's Checklist'.

Please note that you are required to fill out an application form in order to apply for planning permission.
