Creating service pages on gov.ie

Service content has two priorities.

Service content should:

  • clearly show the eligibility criteria so that a user can see if they qualify for the service
  • spell out all the steps the user needs to take in order to access the service

Service content should not refer to the related policy (if there is one) - it only distracts the user from accessing the service.

The service name must be the name of the thing users are looking for - use Google Trends to explore this.

If a service involves a payment to a user - the current rate of payment should be contained within the first two paragraphs of content.

If you are adding a new service, please contact the gov.ie content team. They will help you create the best service for users.
