Young children
The Children's Food Pyramid is a guide for servings and portions sizes for 1 - 4 year olds.
You can find daily meal plans for children aged 1-4 here.

This range of food plans is for every age group over 4 years old, based on The Food Pyramid. These plans give you a balanced approach showing you exactly how easy it is to eat a balanced and healthy diet.
As well as the meal plans, we've also developed a range of guides based on each layer of the Food Pyramid to show you what the correct portion sizes are and handy tips on how to cook them!

Older Adults
This information is for adults aged over 65 who are in good health, mobile and living at home.
The aim of this advice is to help you stay well, by nourishing your body with healthy food and by staying active every day.
If you have a medical condition such as kidney disease or diabetes, problems with swallowing or food allergies, please talk to your dietitian or doctor as this information may not be suitable for you.

Healthy Ireland at your library
Public libraries are delivering the nationwide Healthy Ireland at Your Library programme that establishes libraries as a valuable source within the community for health information.
The initiative includes a range of topics on health and well being and offers books, online resources and a series of events. The book collection has over 100 titles covering the three Healthy Ireland themes – Eat Well, Think Well, Be Well.

Breastfeeding
We’re Breastfeeding Friendly aims to improve the health and wellbeing of breastfeeding mothers, babies and their families through the development and promotion of breastfeeding friendly businesses, organisations and communities.
The We're Breastfeeding Friendly programme aims to support:
- business, community and public service settings to welcome breastfeeding mothers and families
- breastfeeding mothers and families to be active in the community
- parents during the key life transition of becoming a parent
- a strong culture of connectedness - between agencies and within communities (and of course, between mother, family, baby and community)
