Protected Disclosures


External reporting channels

Under the Protected Disclosures Act 2014:

  • the Director of the Insolvency Service of Ireland has been prescribed to receive protected disclosures in respect of all matters relating to the regulation and supervision of personal insolvency practitioners, approved intermediaries and persons authorised to perform the functions of an approved intermediary in accordance with the Personal Insolvency Act 2012
  • the Official Assignee in Bankruptcy in the Insolvency Service of Ireland has been prescribed under the Act to receive protected disclosures in respect of all matters relating to the administration of bankruptcy estates under the Bankruptcy Act 1988

External reporting channels and procedures, in accordance with section 22(5) of the Protected Disclosures (Amendment) Act 2022, are in place and set out in the ISI’s External Protected Disclosures Policy.
