Appointment of Aisling Davis to the Occupational Therapists Registration Board

Following a Public Service Appointments (PAS) campaign, the Minister for Health, Simon Harris TD, has appointed the following as a professional member of the Occupational Therapists Registration Board from 6 January 2020 to 5 January 2023:
Ms Davis is Clinical Specialist Occupational Therapist in Medicine for the Elderly in St James’s Hospital Emergency Department. Prior to her role as Clinical Specialist, Ms Davis worked as a Senior Occupational Therapist in Geriatric Rehabilitation in Clontarf Hospital and also worked in the acute setting in St Vincent’s University Hospital. Ms Davis has a Masters Degree in Advanced Practice for Allied Health Professionals from the University of Ulster and a B.Sc. (Hons) Occupational Therapy from Trinity College.
In her current role she has a complex and busy caseload providing specialist intervention and assessment for older adults including frailty identification and admission avoidance. She is passionate about care of the older adult and for them to remain living well in the community. She has been involved in a number of research projects and has published her Masters research entitled “An Exploratory Study of Discharge Planning Home Visits within an Irish Context- Investigating Nationwide Practice and Nationwide Perspectives” in the Irish Journal of Occupational Therapy in 2019.
