On the nomination of the Chair of the Hospital Board, the Minister for Health Mr Stephen Donnelly TD, has appointed the following person to the St James’s Hospital Board for the period from 1 July 2020 to 27 March 2025.
Mr Garry Burke is an experienced, respected and accomplished executive with a background in finance and accounting, international big-ticket financing particularly aviation, shipping and capital equipment financing, transaction structuring, corporate governance, general management and change management in start-up, growth and established organisations. He is results-oriented with a track record in market identification and tactical and strategic positioning.
Mr Burke is managing director and owner of Hippocrene Limited, a consultancy company focussed on aviation and shipping finance. He is former Global Head, Structured Finance of Standard Chartered Bank from which he retired in September 2019.
Mr Burke is a non-executive director, SDH Wings International Limited, an aircraft operating leasing company owned by Sichuan Development International Holdings Limited (90%) and Standard Chartered Bank.
