Appointments to the Consultative Council on Hepatitis C.

The Minister for Health, Simon Harris TD, has re-appointed Chairperson Ms Ger Kane and appointed/re-appointed the following members to the Consultative Council on Hepatitis C. These appointments are for the period from 21 December 2019 to 20 December 2022.
Ms Kane has over 20 years’ experience dealing with people who have Hepatitis C across various roles in the HSE, including Community Welfare Officer, Primary Care Manager (Dublin West) and Social Inclusion Manager. She has been the National Co-Ordinator for Hepatitis C services since 2015.
Mr O’Mahony is the Chief Executive of the Irish Haemophilia Society. He is President of the European Haemophilia Consortium and previously he was President of the World Federation of Haemophilia for 10 years. Among his activities are writing, advocating, facilitating training on strategic planning, national procurement systems, and lobbying. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Biomedical Sciences and of the Academy of Clinical Science and Laboratory Medicine. He also has professional qualifications in occupational health and safety and in management and holds an assistant adjunct Professor post in Trinity College, Dublin.
Ms Greene has worked for Irish Haemophilia Society since 2003. Ms. Greene is the current Administrator having taken up this role in May 2009. She oversees the day to day running of the office including all event management, website & social media, staffing, support and services to members, and is editor of I.H.S. publications. Ms. Greene is a member of the Irish Haemostasis Research Foundation and is also involved with the World Federation of Haemophilia Twinning Programme.
Mr Murphy has been the Chief Executive of the Irish Kidney Association (IKA) for 19 years. He has over 33 year’s personal experience as a carer to patients with End Stage Renal Disease. Mark is the representative of the European Kidney Patients Federation (EKPF) in the European Kidney Health Alliance based in Brussels. He was a Council Member of the International Federation of Kidney Foundations, and previously has been Secretary of the European Transplant and Dialysis Sports Federation. He served for 5 years as a Councillor of the World Transplant Games Federation.
