Ms Kathleen Walsh
Ms Walsh is a registered general nurse, with a MS in Nursing, MSc Healthcare Ethics and Law and a Graduate Diploma in Healthcare Quality and Risk Management. She has had a varied professional nursing and health regulatory career, working with the Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council as Programme Development Officer responsible for Education and Standards for several years.
Prior to this she was with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland for over 15 years, as Project Officer for the introduction of nurse and midwife prescribing and then as Professional Officer for Standards of Practice and Guidance. Her nursing experience in the US included working as an acute care nurse practitioner.
Kathleen served as a member of the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland’s Professional Practice Committee and represented the International Council of Nurses on the WHO expert working group for its Global Patient Safety Challenge on Medication Without Harm. She is a member of the Medico-Legal Society of Ireland. She has recently commenced on a new career pathway – Social and Therapeutic Horticulture (STH) undertaking foundational courses in horticulture and training/development seeking to utilise this knowledge with her qualifications to contribute to the growing discipline of STH within Ireland.
Ms Geraldine Murray
Ms Murray is an executive healthcare leader, with extensive experience at corporate governance level. She has held many senior positions at Executive Nurse Director level in large acute hospitals and has a proven track record of accomplishments at both strategic and operational level within various national and international healthcare organisations. Geraldine has led a number of organisations towards the successful achievement of international accreditation (Joint Commission International/ JCI). Geraldine also has several years of senior academic management experience within a third level institute in Ireland.
Geraldine maintains an ongoing interest and continued involvement both nationally and internationally in research, quality clinical care initiatives, international accreditation and the Intercultural Dynamics of Multicultural Working.
Geraldine has achieved many awards in nursing throughout her career and both lectures and presents papers nationally and internationally. She is also the author of numerous publications.
