On the nomination of Dublin City Council/Fingal County Council, the Minister for Health, Mr Simon Harris T.D., has appointed the following person as a member of the Beaumont Hospital Board for a three-year term from 19 June 2020:
Counsellor Daryl Barron
Daryl is a Dublin City Councillor that represents Donaghmede Electoral Area. He serves on the Finance Strategic Policy Committee for Dublin City Council, Dublin - North East Regional Health Forum, the Eastern & Midland Regional Assembly (EMRA) and is also involved in several community groups and organisations in his area.
Daryl works as a Senior Manager for Bank of Ireland working within Corporate Governance and has worked in variety of roles within Financial Services. He is a Qualified Financial Advisor (QFA) since 2018 and holds a BA (Hons) Degree from the National College of Ireland in Business Management. He was appointed to the Board of Beaumont Hospital by the Minister of Health in June 2020.

Mr Henry McGarvey
Mr McGarvey is the Vice-president of Finance and Corporate Services in Letterkenny Institute of Technology and prior to that was the Head of Computing and Creative Practices in Institute of Technology Sligo.
Before joining the public sector, Henry led Pramerica Systems Ireland Limited for 13 years, growing the organisation from a start-up to more than 1,000 IT professionals. Prior to returning to Ireland, Henry worked in Saudi Arabia as Head of Information Technology in Almarai. Henry also held senior management positions with Motorola and as an IT Consultant with Accenture.
Henry has served on various boards including as a member of the board of the IDA and Ilex (Northern Ireland). Henry chaired the Governing Body of Letterkenny Institute of Technology, the American Chamber of Commerce Ireland, Pramerica Systems Ireland Ltd., as well as a Trustee of the Pramerica Pensions Fund. Henry chairs the Donegal Clinical Academy Trust, is a member of the board of An Grianan theatre in Letterkenny, serves on the audit committee of Donegal County Council and is a member of the board of the Donegal Investment Group plc.
Henry completed an Executive Diploma in Corporate Governance from UCD in 2012 and holds a MSc. in Transport and Distribution from Cranfield University. He completed his primary degree in Commerce in NUIG, as well as a Masters’ in Business Studies in NUIG.

Mr Gerry Murray
Mr Murray served as CEO of the Technological Higher Education Association (THEA) from December 2007 to August 2016. THEA is the representative body for the institutes of technology and its Board comprises the presidents of the institutes.
Previously, Gerry worked in the Department of Education and Skills where he established the Public-private Partnership (PPP) Unit and oversaw the delivery of the pilot PPP projects in the education sector. Subsequently, Gerry had responsibility for higher education policy where the brief included reform of the system of entry into medical education.
Gerry holds an MBA from Fordham University. His governance experience includes recent membership of the Board of the National Development Finance Agency (NDFA) and the Audit Committee of the National Treasury Management Agency (NTMA). Between 2009-2012, Gerry also served as the only non-Bahraini member of the Board of Trustees of the then newly-established Bahrain Polytechnic.

Following a Public Appointment Service (PAS) campaign, the Minister for Health, Mr Simon Harris T.D., has re-appointed the following person as a member and Chair Designate of the Beaumont Hospital Board for the period to 19 June 2023:
Ms Gillian Harford
Ms Harford is the former Head of HR Strategy & Planning with AIB. With a career spanning almost 40 years, she has been responsible for significant people change with particular focus on Culture, Career, Diversity and Agile Work. Gillian is currently the Country Executive for the 30% Club in Ireland, helping to build their future strategy, and also works directly with client organisations focusing on diversity and workplace change.
Gillian holds a BA, an MBA from Michael Smurfitt Business School UCD, and the Professional Diploma in Corporate Governance, UCD. She is a member of the Institute of Directors, fellow of CIPD, and a fellow of the Institute of Bankers. Joining the Board of Beaumont Hospital in 2017, Gillian assumed the role of Chair in January 2020.
On the nomination of the Royal College of Surgeons Ireland, the Minister for Health, Mr Simon Harris T.D., has appointed the following person as a member of the Beaumont Hospital Board for a three-year term from 17 April 2020:
Professor Paul McNally
Professor McNally graduated from the UCD School of Medicine in 1998, completed his paediatric medical training in Ireland and subsequently completed his MD with RCSI. Paul completed fellowship training at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and was appointed as a consultant in Respiratory Medicine at Children’s Health Ireland (CHI) at Crumlin in 2009. Paul is Associate Professor of Paediatrics at RCSI and Director of Research and Innovation for CHI. Paul is a member of the working group of the National Clinical Programme for Cystic Fibrosis and a member of the Board of CF Registry of Ireland.
On the nomination of the Irish College for General Practitioners, the Minister for Health, Mr Simon Harris T.D., has appointed the following person as a member of the Beaumont Hospital Board for a three-year term from 17 April 2020:
Dr Una Kennedy
Dr Una Kennedy is a General Practitioner in Phibsborough. She is also GP Advisor to the National Cancer Control Programme and a member of the ICGP Quality in Practice Committee. She is a graduate of Trinity College Dublin

Dr Gerard Moore
Dr Moore is an Associate Professor and the Academic lead for Psychotherapy in the School of Nursing, Psychotherapy and Community Health in DCU. Gerry is the former Head of School and lectures on the Masters and Doctorate in Psychotherapy programmes and the Professional Diploma in Supervision. He is a registered practitioner member of the Association of Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy in Ireland (APPI) and President of the Irish Chapter of the International Society of Nurses in Addiction (IntNSA). He is a Registered Mental Health Nurse and Registered General Nurse having graduated from Beaumont Hospital in 1988. Prior to working in DCU he was an Assistant Director of Nursing in the Mental Health Service. His research interests include projects on psychotherapy, addiction, and the management of care in mental health and social services.
