Ann is a Regional Manager within the regulation directorate of the Health Information and Quality Authority (HIQA). She is a registered general nurse and midwife and has worked in the Irish healthcare system for over twenty five years. She holds a Master’s in Business Administration in Healthcare Management from Smurfit Business School and a level 9 Diploma in Professional Regulation from University College Dublin (UCD). She has also completed a certificate in Corporate Governance with Public Affairs Ireland. Ann has worked within the regulation directorate in HIQA for over 10 years regulating healthcare and adult and children’s social care services. She is responsible for the implementation of risk based monitoring approaches, monitoring and inspecting the services’ compliance against national standards and regulations.
Prior to this Ann has worked in a healthcare setting in various senior management roles including Quality and Accreditation Manager and Clinical Practice Development Co-ordinator. She has been a member of a Clinical Governance Committee within a hospital setting. As part of this group she had oversight of all clinical and non-clinical incidents and complaints, determined trends and identified quality improvement initiatives. She was also a member of a multidisciplinary Quality and Risk Management Forum and Health and Safety Committee leading on a comprehensive organisation-wide response to quality, risk and safety issues. She worked with the Clinical Indemnity Scheme evaluating risk management issues and matters relating to medical negligence claims.
Marcella holds her Doctorate in Psychotherapy from the Metanoia Institute. Her research focused on integration and pluralism within the practice of psychotherapy. Marcella is a practicing therapist and supervisor. She is a member of several professional bodies including the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP); the Irish Association of Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy (IAHIP); the Irish Council for Psychotherapy (ICP); the European Association of Psychotherapy (EAP), and the American Psychological Association (APA). Marcella has practiced, taught, researched, published and presented widely, both nationally and internationally, and in collaboration with many leaders in the field of psychotherapy. As President of IICP College she has extensive experience in governance, compliance, policy, and regulatory affairs. In addition, Marcella sits on the Board of the Higher Education and Colleges Association (HECA) and the Board of the Village Counselling Service (VCS). Marcella’s career encompasses professional, clinical, academic, teaching and research leadership. This facilitates her ability to draw on a wide range of knowledge, skills and expertise with a focus on practising within the Profession.
With over twenty years of dedicated public service in the fields of Mental Health, eMental Health, Higher Education and Public Service Broadcasting, Jennifer offers CORU’s Counsellors and Psychotherapists Registration Board extensive knowledge and experience of the Irish health care system gained through a wide range of clinical, management, legal and media skills gained in the Public, Private, Corporate and Charity sectors. An experienced and accredited Psychotherapist, Counsellor and Clinical Service Manager, Jennifer is qualified and experienced in three Counselling and Psychotherapy within three modalities – Integrative, Humanistic and Psychoanalytic - gained through three Irish institutes of higher learning - Trinity College Dublin, Dublin City University and the National University of Ireland Maynooth. In her roles as Director and CEO of Accord Dublin, reporting to the Board of Trustees and TUSLA, she provides leadership, stewardship and executive management of 100 counsellor and education facilitators providing marriage and relationship counselling and domestic abuse counselling for adults and couples, relationship sexuality education for primary and secondary school students and marriage education for couples preparing for married life. As General Manager for the innovative online mental health charity Turn2me eMental Health, reporting to the Board of Trustees and the HSE’s National Office for Suicide Prevention, she managed the development and delivery of accessible professional online Counselling and Psychotherapy nationwide for young people and adults via a 3-tiered stepped care psychosocial approach to mental health support. As an award-winning Public Service Television Development Executive and Executive Producer for BBC Television in London and RTE Television developing and producing Documentaries, Current Affairs, Drama and Comedy she has extensive knowledge and experience of communications, public relations and the Irish and international media landscape. A passionate advocate of improving access to psychological therapies, she is currently conducting Doctoral research on eMental health interventions with The Department of Psychology, Trinity College Dublin where she currently teaches and supervises research candidates on the MPhil and MSc degrees in Psychoanalytic Studies and Psychotherapy.
Colin is a Chartered Psychologist (PSI, HCPC, BPS), Accredited Psychotherapist (IACP), Accredited Supervisor (ACI) and fellow of the Psychological Society of Ireland. He is currently clinical lead for the Health Service Executive (HSE) Mid-West addiction services. Colin has led addiction and mental health treatment services in residential and community settings and provides regular clinical supervision of counsellors, psychotherapists and psychologists. He is also responsible for the clinical quality standards implementation and clinical governance of the HSE addiction service provision in the Mid-West.
Oliver is a highly experienced insurance and reinsurance executive who has held positions at senior management, vice presidential and director level for insurance and reinsurance companies based in Ireland, the UK and the USA. He has worked in this industry for almost forty years and has extensive knowledge of insurance and reinsurance run off operations, sales negotiation, dispute resolution, arbitration and court litigation. He also has significant experience in dealing with insurance regulatory authorities in Ireland and the USA, is an Approved Person by the Central Bank of Ireland and worked as Director and Compliance Officer for ESG Reinsurance Ireland and Accent Europe Insurance Company from 2009 to 2015. Mr Kelly currently works as a self-employed insurance/reinsurance consultant.
Carole is Head of Applied Social Science at the Technological University of the Shannon. She is World Fellow in Social Science at UN, ISSC and holds a doctorate in Business Administration, an MBA and degrees in both public administration and science. Previously she has held senior roles in health and social care service provision and management, achieving significant developments in governance, clinical delivery and quality assurance.
