Public Service Vehicles (PSV) Licences

Public Service Vehicles are vehicles that carry passengers for a fee. These vehicles qualify for a reduced rate in tax – check the current Motor Tax rates here.
To tax a small Public Service Vehicle (SPSV - vehicles capable of carrying a maximum of eight passengers such as taxis or hackneys), you will need:
- Renewal Form RF100B (which is issued via postal reminder from Dept of Transport, Shannon), or RF100A (English) if there is arrears or a non-use period
- Evidence of Insurance
- A valid Hackney, Limousine or Taxi licence issued by the Commission for Taxi Regulation (a current NCT is a requirement for issue of the licence by the Commission)
- Appropriate fee
To tax a large Public Service Vehicle (LPSV - vehicles capable of carrying 9 or more passengers such as buses), you will need:
- Renewal Form RF100B or RF100A (English) if there is arrears or a non-use period
- Evidence of Insurance
- Current Certificate of Roadworthiness
- PSV licence
- In the case of a school bus, an Article 60 Licence must be submitted
- Appropriate fee
