This framework agreement offers:

  • Catering/canteen services, where food and beverages are prepared, cooked (where appropriate) and served on site
  • Hospitality services, where food and beverages are prepared, cooked (where appropriate) and served on site

Green and social considerations

Food and Catering Services was identified by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as one of the ten priority products/sectors. The GPP Criteria used for this Framework establishment were: 2 Selection Criteria, 13 Core Technical Specifications, and 4 Contract Performance Clauses. Further GPP Criteria can be used by the PSB’s at mini competitions. GPP principles were integrated, incorporating inter alia the following: Requirements and Specifications: Organic Food Products; Procurement of Sustainable Meat, Poultry, Dairy, Fruit, Eggs, and Vegetables; Procurement of Sustainable Marine and Aquaculture Products; Food Packaging; Food and Beverage Waste Prevention; General Waste Prevention

Selection Criteria: Food Safety Management System; Food Traceability; Food Waste Prevention.

Award Criteria: Procurement of additional organic food products; Procurement of eggs: production methods; Procurement of meat and dairy products; Procurement of fair and ethical trade food products.

Contract Performance Clauses: Environmental reporting and audits planning; Staff Training; Record of food purchases; Food and beverage redistribution.

Contract Dates

Valid From: Tuesday 06 Aug 2024

Expires: Wednesday 05 Aug 2026

Contract extensions may be available for this arrangement; please check the Buyer Zone or contact support@ogp.gov.ie for further information. Specifically, if you are concerned that the expiry date will have an impact on your requirements.

How to use this framework agreement

Services from the Framework will be conducted through “Supplementary Request for Tender” (SRFT) Mini-Competitions. The competition pool will be by reference to the Lot which the requirement falls.

On each occasion that you propose to award a Service Contract through Mini-Competition, you must complete:

A technical requirements document and a SRFT which are available on the Buyer Zone for download.

Once you have completed the SRFT and technical requirements document please submit to OGP Support (support@ogp.gov.ie), you will be contacted by the relevant team member to begin the consultation process.
