The Public Procurement Advisory Council

The Public Procurement Advisory Council was established in 2024 to advise on the development of public procurement across the civil and public Service. The Council meet quarterly and provide guidance and advise on procurement policy, digital transformation, data and analytics and strategic centralised procurement issues.

The Council is comprised of senior stakeholders across a number of Government departments and Agencies and is chaired by Minister Ossian Smyth, Minister of State at the Department of Public Expenditure, NDP Delivery and Reform with special responsibility for Public Procurement and eGovernment.


The Interim Procurement Reform Board

The Interim Procurement Reform Board played a key role in overseeing the delivery of the public procurement reform programme from May 2017 to June 2024.

The Board acted as an advisory body providing guidance on the procurement reform programme’s structures, practices and policies on centralised procurement.

It also provided advice and guidance on public procurement strategy, in line with national and EU legislation, government policy, national guidance and best practice.
