- 34,500 properties assessed by CFRAM being at risk from 1% flood (100 year flood, or 1% chance of that – significant - flood event happening in any year).
- 95% of these properties can be protected by flood relief schemes against that risk.
- 119 more Flood Relief Schemes proposed to protect 11,500 properties.
- €1.3bn required to deliver these schemes and other measures – made available through the National Development Plans 2018 – 2030, and getting greatest return:
- Nationally from prioritising those schemes in communities where the impact from a flood event is greatest.
- Regionally by utilising OPW and Local Authority capacity to deliver schemes.
