Minister O'Donovan announces funding approval for flood protection works at River Nore, Co. Laois

Minister of State with responsibility for the Office of Public Works, Mr. Patrick O’Donovan, T.D., has announced the approval of Laois County Council’s application under the Office of Public Works’ Minor Flood Mitigation Works and Coastal Protection Scheme.
Under the scheme, the Office of Public Works (OPW) has approved additional funding of €63,000, Phase 2, for the removal of deadwood/debris and pruning of trees that are causing restrictions on approximately 6km of the River Nore in South Laois.
This funding is in addition to €82,373 approved by the OPW for Phase 1 of the project in 2017/2018
