Statement relating to the period January 2022 to December 2022
The Protected Disclosures Act 2014 became operational on 15 July 2014. The Act provides a statutory framework within which current or former staff members of the Office of the Attorney General can raise concerns regarding potential wrongdoing within the workplace that has come to their attention, in the knowledge that they can avail of significant employment and other protections if they are penalised or suffer any detriment for doing so.
The Act specifies that the Office must publish, no later than 30 June each year, details relating to Protected Disclosures made within the Office in the immediately preceding year.
Consequently, I wish to formally report that in the period from 1 January 2022 to 31 December 2022 no Protected Disclosures were received from current or former staff within this Office.
