The Office of the Planning Regulator was established to carry out 3 main functions:
- to independently assess all local authority and regional assembly forward planning including development plans, local area plans and regional spatial and economic strategies
- to review the systems and procedures that are used by planning authorities and An Bord Pleanála
- to drive research, training, education and public information programmes
This strategy statement sets out the Office of the Planning Regulator’s high-level goals, actions and milestones in delivering its duties over a six-year period.
