The Department of Justice's mission is to work together to advance community and national security, promote justice and equality and safeguard human rights.
Recruitment by the department is generally conducted, through open competition, by the Public Appointments Service (PAS).
The PAS is the centralised provider of recruitment, assessment and selection services for the civil service and is the main access route for candidates interested in joining the public service.
Further information on any current open positions is available on the Public Jobs website.
The PAS has also launched a dedicated information portal for graduates seeking information about career opportunities in the Public Service.
The Courts Service, Legal Aid Board, Garda Síochána Ombudsman Commission, An Garda Síochána and the Property Registration Service also recruit through the Public Appointments Service.
Occasionally we use external recruitment agencies or highlight an open position, and when this happens we may list the advertisement here.
The Civil Service Renewal Plan commits to expanding career and mobility opportunities for staff across geographic, organisational and sectoral boundaries.
In line with this commitment, a new Civil Service Mobility Scheme launched in November 2017, enabling all permanent staff in the general Civil Service grades of Clerical Officer and Executive Officer to apply for mobility.
This phase of mobility includes moves between and within 46 zones.
