The Procurement & Acquisitions Branch of the Department of Defence is responsible for policy direction of defence equipment infrastructure and providing a procurement function in respect of the Defence Forces for defensive equipment and materials, and major procurement projects.
Procurement & Acquisitions Branch is responsible for the overall procurement policy within the Defence Organisation and for the procurement of defensive equipment. The procurement of goods and services by the Defence Organisation is carried out in accordance with public procurement policy and national and European law.
The Office of Government Procurement framework agreements are used to acquire goods and services that are common to the Public Sector.
