The Local Government Division deals with:
In terms of finances, the Division deals commercial rates policy and the allocation of local property tax. The Division also provides national leadership and coordination on fire; severe weather and emergency management through the dedicated National Directorate for Fire and Emergency Management. The Division has lead responsibility for coordination of the oversight and governance of the Departments State agencies, in particular the Valuation Office, Ordnance Survey Ireland and the Property Registration Authority, including progressing their merger into a single entity to be known as Tailte Eireann.
