Mr Niall Nolan

Mr. Nolan has been a practising barrister since 2002 and specialises in criminal law, mental health law and judicial review proceedings. In addition to acting for private parties in these areas, he has also acted for the Director of Public Prosecutions, the Attorney General and the Health Service Executive. He has advised the Decision Support Service on issues relating to the commencement of the Assisted Decision-Making (Capacity) Act 2015, and has advised the Irish Human Rights and Equality Commission in relation to the introduction of numerous pieces of legislation. He is currently a member of the Bar Council’s Professional Practices Committee and has for a number of years been a guest lecturer on the Honorable Society of King’s Inns Advanced Diploma Course in Quasi-Judicial Decision Making.
