The Department for Housing, Local Government and Heritage and the Department for Agriculture, Food and the Marine wish to remind stakeholders of the opportunity to join an information webinar on Irelands Nitrates consultation on Monday evening 6th September 7-9pm.
Department and Teagasc personnel will set out the background to the changes, the timelines for the review and also key proposals that are subject to consultation. Both Departments encourage participation in the process and are keen to hear the views of all stakeholders. The information webinar on Monday evening 6th September will provide an opportunity for stakeholders to participate in these discussions
The current regulations expire at the end of 2021 and a new Nitrates Action programme must be published at the beginning of 2022 with the revised regulations to remain in place until 2025.

The European Union (Good Agricultural Practice for Protection of Waters) Regulations 2017 (S.I. No. 605 of 2017 otherwise now as the Nitrates regulations are subject to review every 4 years with this to be concluded by year end. It is important for all stakeholders to contribute to this important review.
