In the context of the Programme for Government commitment to a Joint Labour Committee for the early years sector, the Minister for Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth, Roderic O'Gorman, T.D., has, in partnership with SIPTU and CSI/IBEC, begun a short process in which interested parties will be invited to discuss how best to address issues of pay and conditions in the sector and how a JLC might support this.
The Minister has appointed Kevin Duffy, former Chair of the Labour Court, to be an independent chair for this process which will take place over an 8-week period. A first meeting will take place in the coming weeks.
