The Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Andrew Bradley, as Chair to the Board of the Design and Crafts Council Ireland, to continue the strategic development of Ireland’s design and craft sector and wishes him every success in his new role.
Andrew is an entrepreneur in the Irish creative sector having successfully built his own brand and design strategy consultancy. He qualified as an Industrial Designer and having secured a scholarship he graduated with a Master’s Degree in Environment Design from the University of Calgary, Canada.
Throughout his career, Andrew has been an active member of the Institute of Designers in Ireland and was President from 2013 to 2015. In 2017 he was appointed to the Board of the Design and Crafts Council of Ireland where he was appointed Interim chair in October 2020. He was the founding Chairman of Design Skillnet, a Government of Ireland initiative for enterprise-led training and in 2020, he was also appointed to the Board of Irish Sailing, the national governing body for the sport.

The Design & Crafts Council Ireland (DCCI) is the national agency for the commercial development of Irish designers and makers, stimulating innovation, championing design thinking and informing government policy. Its vision is to ensure Ireland is recognised and valued for its culture of design and craft.
They provide a range of programmes, supports and services for designers and craftspeople, learners and teachers, retailers and gallerists, shoppers and collectors, media and partner organisations in order to raise the standard and profile of Irish design and craft. Their activities are funded by the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment via Enterprise Ireland.
They currently have 55 member organisations and over 3,200 registered clients. You can view the Public Directory of Craftspeople where you can search for registered makers (who have opted to be listed in the public craft directory) by name, county, product and discipline as well as samples of their work.
