Minister Troy encourages consumers to compare, switch and save with CCPC Money Tools

Minister for Trade Promotion, Digital and Company Regulation Robert Troy TD today welcomed the CCPC Money Tools campaign which aims to provide consumers with crucial information on how to compare and switch various financial services including mortgages, current accounts and credit cards
Minister Troy said:
"The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) has developed a suite of online comparison tools for consumers, across a range of financial products, including current accounts, regular savings accounts, mortgages and credit cards. An excellent feature of the Money Tools are the different calculators (that is, a mortgage calculator, extra mortgage payments calculator, spending calculator and budget planner). By using these calculators, consumers can see how much money they could potentially save.
"For many, the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic has served as a catalyst for change, in terms of how they manage their money, as well as consumer attitudes to switching providers in order to seek better value in the market. In order to support consumers in making informed choices about their personal finances, the CCPC devised this consumer information campaign aimed at promoting their free, independent Money Tools."
The CCPC Money Tools were created to allow consumers to quickly and easily compare features (such as maintenance fees, charges and interest rates) across all of the major financial providers. All of this comparison and consumer information is independently provided.
Minister Troy added:
"I would encourage consumers to visit the CCPC’s website, ccpc.ie and avail of these very useful tools which could end up saving consumers significant amounts of money in the long run."
