National Jobs Week, organised by the Department of Employment Affairs and Social Protection, takes place this week from 25 – 29 March 2019 and will see hundreds of Employers and Training Providers showcase at over 80 events around the country.
Following on from the success of last year, the Department of Employment Affairs and Social Protection (DEASP) and NEWKD will be hosting ‘THE EXPO’ event at Dingle Skellig Hotel on Thursday, March 28th from 11am to 3pm.
This free event brings employers and educators together under the one roof to showcase the opportunities available to people living on the Peninsula. It will be of particular interest to those who are looking for a new job, seeking to gain new skills or who are at a cross-roads with their career.
This event will afford employers the opportunity to meet potential staff. Employers who cannot attend but wish to advertise for a job vacancy should contact (066) 714 2788 to make the necessary arrangements.
Further information on ‘The Expo’ event is available at (066) 714 2788, during office hours.
Commenting on Jobs Week, Minister for Employment Affairs and Social Protection, Regina Doherty, TD, said: “Jobs Week offers a great opportunity for jobseekers to meet with employers, exchange advice, and especially, find work. Equally, it provides employers with the opportunity to actively recruit. This year’s events include Job Fairs, information sessions for job seekers on upskilling opportunities and career advice workshops covering CV preparation and interview techniques. It is an opportunity not to be missed by jobseekers looking for work and by employers who are trying to find the most suitable people for their business.”
This dedicated week of activity provides jobseekers and employers the opportunity to network and connect together and to provide information on the services available to jobseekers and employers from the Department’s Intreo service.
As well as advertising job vacancies, the events will include 1-2-1 CV clinics, interview preparation workshops, seminars, career coaching and recruitment fairs targeted at specific industries.
