The Department of Employment Affairs and Social Protection will host National Jobs Week from Monday 2nd to Friday 6th March 2020. A number of events are scheduled for Cork.
A Supporting Women Into Work seminar will take place in the Clonakilty Hotel on Tuesday 3rd March from 10.30am to 1.00pm. A similar seminar will be held in the Republic of Work, 12, South Mall, Cork City on Friday 6th March.
Marie O’Flynn, the Department’s Divisional Manager for the Cork area encourages women to attend a seminar which she said “is an opportunity to hear from local service providers and employers who will give advice on beginning the journey back to employment.” Places can be reserved by logging onto Eventbrite and searching for “Supporting Women Into Work”.
Representatives from the Department will give a presentation at the Cork City LEO Partnership and Enterprise event in the Imperial Hotel from 11.00am to 1.00pm on Wednesday 4th March.
Employers and businesses in the North Cork area are welcome to attend a briefing about the incentives and supports available to them from the Department. This will take place in the Castle Hotel, Macroom on Wednesday, 4th March from 10.00am. Speakers will also include representatives from the Department, Local Enterprise Office and SECAD.
Jobseekers with a disability are welcome to attend a presentation in the Intreo Centre, Abbey Court House, George’s Quay, Cork City on Thursday 5th March. The purpose of this event is to outline training options and employment supports available to people with disabilities.
