The Department of Public Expenditure, NDP Delivery and Reform has published its Gender Pay Gap Report 2023. This report is the result of analysis of payroll metrics from 1 July 2022 up to 23 June 2023.
The gender pay gap is the difference in the average hourly wage of men and women across the department.
The mean is the average hourly pay point.
The median is the midpoint hourly pay point.
The mean gender pay gap indicates that, on average, men are paid 2.57% higher than women. This compares with a figure of 5.71% in the 2022 Gender Pay Gap Report.
Like all Civil Service organisations, the Department of Public Expenditure, NDP Delivery and Reform has equal pay for men and women in the same grades. As such, the gender pay gap arises as a result of the differences in the higher number of men occupying senior roles over the course of the reporting period.
The median gender pay gap indicates that, on average, women are paid 1.56% higher than men. This compares with a figure of 2.00% in the 2022 Gender Pay Gap Report.
