The Minister for Finance, Paschal Donohoe T.D., is in Paris today (Friday) to participate in an Informal Summit meeting of European Heads of State and Government in his capacity as President of the Eurogroup.
Minister Donohoe will take part in the discussion on a new growth and investment model, which forms part of the EU’s objective of building a more robust economic base.
Speaking ahead of his participation in the Informal Summit, Minister Donohoe stated:
“We face a challenging, uncertain time and the welfare of the people of Ukraine remains at the centre of our discussion. In order to support Ukraine, strong and collective action is our best response. It is important we continue our work strengthening Europe’s economic foundations. I am pleased to participate in this meeting with EU Leaders and represent the views of the Eurogroup, who have been engaged throughout this discussion. Deepening the Economic and Monetary Union is a priority for Europe, and investment must play a role.”
