The Department of Agriculture, Food & the Marine is reminding famers that completed Nitrate's declarations for the movement of organic fertiliser, temporary movement of animals during the year or short-term rental grazing agreements for 2021 should be submitted by 31st December 2021.
These are:
• Record of Movement of Organic Fertilisers – on-line system now available
• Record 4 Form – Temporary Movement of Animals
• Record 5 Form – Short Term rental Grazing Agreement
Farmers can access the on-line system by logging on to their agfood account and selecting the N&P Statements. The system can be used by both farmers and agricultural advisors.
Please note: all on-line movements of slurry must be accepted (verified) on the system by the importer by 31 December 2021 in order to be valid.
Record 4 and Record 5 Forms and a short demonstration video and user manual for the on-line system are all available on the Department’s website here: https://www.gov.ie/en/publication/c9563-rural-environment-sustainability-nitrates/#nitrates-records
Forms can be submitted by e-mail to: nitrates@agriculture.gov.ie nitrates@agriculture.gov.ie
OR by post to:
Nitrates Section, Dept. of Agriculture, Food & Marine, Johnstown Castle, Co Wexford Y35 PN52
Please note that the only accepted proof of postage is Swift Post Receipt or Registered Post Receipt.
Submitting these forms by the 31st December 2021 can help farmers to comply with the 170 kg N/Ha livestock manure limit or 250 kg N/ha limit in the case of approved derogation farmers. Last year the majority of farmers submitted their forms on time and stayed within the limit and avoided penalties.
