In welcoming the decision of PDFORRA members, Minister Kehoe said “The Agreement contains proposals for a series of pay increases over the three years of the agreement ranging from 6.2% to 7.4% with the benefits weighted towards those on lower pay. I am particularly pleased that PDFORRA have voted to accept the Public Service Stability Agreement 2018-2020, by a very large majority. This will bring undoubted benefits to the members of PDFORRA.
The Minister added "By accepting the agreement, not only will the members receive the increases in pay that are due under the agreement but PDFORRA will also now have the opportunity to engage further with the Public Service Pay Commission who have prioritised the Defence Sector for a more extensive examination on the issue of recruitment and retention difficulties in the Defence Forces".
The result of the PDFORRA ballot follows the decision by RACO to vote in favour of the Public Service Stability Agreement 2018-2020 last week, meaning that all members of the Defence Forces will benefit from pay increases from January 2018.
