3 new Board members to join the Crawford Art Gallery

The Minister for of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media, Catherine Martin, today announced the following three new appointments to the board of the Crawford Art Gallery:
The 3 appointees will each serve a 5-year term.
Commenting on the appointments, Minister Martin said:
“I wish to congratulate all three appointees and wish them the very best during their terms which will cover the exciting redevelopment of the Crawford Art Gallery, a flagship project under my National Development Plan programme of investment. I am delighted to announce the appointments of such highly skilled, committed and experienced candidates and am very grateful to them for taking on these very important roles and offering their skills and expertise to the Crawford Art Gallery.”
Rose McHugh, Chair of the Board of the Crawford Art Gallery, also welcomed the appointments, commenting:
“I welcome these board appointments. The new members will be joining the Board at a dynamic time for the organisation as we move onto the delivery of our major Capital development.”
The appointments follow a public call for applications on the State Boards website and an assessment process managed by the Public Appointments Service.
Ms. Penelope Kenny is a Chartered Accountant who has held an extensive range of key positions in state bodies and in the financial services industry. She specialises in corporate governance, strategic business transformation, change management and financial control. She has over 20 years of experience enhancing organisational performance and effectiveness in the corporate functions of public sector organisations, and listed companies.
Ms. Fiona O’Malley is a qualified Barrister with over 14 years’ experience in communications, marketing, law, PR, fundraising, media relations, engagement and events. Her experience in fundraising, development and philanthropy includes donor relations, major donors, corporate and individual giving. She is currently CEO of a national mental charity called Turn2Me, overseeing fundraising, communications, legal, governance, data protection and marketing.
Mr. Martin O’Brien is a qualified accountant with over 30 years’ experience at a senior level in the Banking and Financial Services Industry. He has extensive experience of managing and leading teams through organisational change and strategic management.
