Minister for Social Protection, Heather Humphreys TD, has today confirmed that the Community Welfare Service in County Cavan provided by the Department of Social Protection is fully operational.
Vacancies arising from recent retirements in County Cavan Community Welfare Service have been filled and there are no difficulties accessing the service with no customers experiencing any delays in making appointments.
Minister Humphreys said:
“I am pleased to confirm my department’s Community Welfare Service in Cavan is fully operational and that vacancies that arose as a result of recent retirements have been filled.
“I have asked officials to ensure provisions are in place so that anyone in need can access this vital service over the Christmas period.
“Any Cavan residents who require assistance from the Community Welfare Service can make contact by telephone on 049 4379695 and by email at CWSCavan@welfare.ie.”
The department’s Community Welfare Service delivers the Supplementary Welfare Allowance scheme which is the safety net within the overall social welfare system. This scheme provides assistance to eligible people in the State whose means are insufficient to meet their needs and those of their dependents.
