Minister Murphy has approved ten infrastructure projects across five local authority areas, in Dublin and Cork. This funding of €43 million will enable the delivery of 1,400 affordable homes on local authority lands.
The funds are the first round of approvals under the Serviced Sites Fund. The Fund, which amounts to €310 million in total and will be available out to 2021, was established to provide key facilitating infrastructure, on public lands, to support the delivery of affordable homes to purchase or rent. These infrastructure projects will also support the development of some 780 social housing homes where local authorities are bringing forward these sites forward as part of mixed tenure developments.
