Minister Roderic O’Gorman and his officials today met with Ukrainian Ambassador, Larysa Gerasko.
Minister O’Gorman updated Ambassador Gerasko on the accommodation shortage, whilst reiterating the Irish Government’s continued solidarity with Ukraine.
Minister O’Gorman and Ambassador Gerasko also discussed issues including Citywest capacity and emergency accommodation for people fleeing Ukraine. They also discussed developing communications for Ukrainian people, both in Ireland and those who may travel to Ireland.
The Ambassador expressed her gratitude for the support that people fleeing the war in Ukraine have received from the Irish people and Government, and acknowledged the challenges involved in responding to the number of people arriving in Ireland.
Both parties committed to staying in regular contact.
