Contract awarded to provide a passenger ferry service and a bus service for Inishbofin, Co. Galway

Government Chief Whip and Minister of State for the Irish Language, the Gaeltacht and the Islands, Seán Kyne TD, announced that he has approved a subsidy of €1,540,000 to provide a passenger ferry service and a bus service for Inishbofin, County Galway for the period from 1 January 2020 to 31 December 2024.
Minister of State Kyne said he was delighted to be able to approve this subsidy:
"I can announce today that this contract has been awarded to the company, Inisbofin Island Discovery Ltd, after a public tender competition held by my Department. I am pleased that I was able to provide funding for this important service. This service will be of huge benefit to the people of Inishbofin and to visitors to the island over the next five years."
