OECD Secretary General Mathias Cormann visits Dublin

Secretary General of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), Mathias Cormann, arrived in Dublin on 13 April for a 2-day visit, in his first visit to Ireland since taking up the role of Secretary General of the Organisation in June 2021.
The Secretary General has been undertaking a series of bilateral engagements, including with Taoiseach Micheál Martin, Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, Leo Varadkar, Minister for the Environment, Climate and Communications, Eamon Ryan, Minister for Finance, Paschal Donohoe, and Minister for European Affairs, Thomas Byrne. Secretary General Cormann concluded his visit by addressing the Global Ireland Summit taking place in Dublin Castle in the morning of 14 April.
Welcoming Mr Cormann’s visit, Minister Byrne said:
"I am delighted to welcome Secretary General Cormann to Dublin for the first time since his appointment last year. As an active and committed founding member, Ireland recognises the important leadership role of the OECD in assisting its members to address the challenging global economic realities we face. The climate crisis, the green and digital transitions, the impact of the Russian invasion of Ukraine and the ongoing challenges presented by the post-pandemic recovery require sustained global engagement and cooperation.
